Configure a status record to support output to multiple registers

Follow the procedure below to configure a status record to support output to multiple registers with a preset bit format.
Notes: Multiple register output is only available for points using xmodbus remotes.
The Xmodbus Protocol Driver for OASyS' SW word swap definition will swap the values
of multiple registers on status records. For example, the value of Register #2 is
sent in Register #1 and vice versa. The effect of the word swap on the status command
output is not visible at the status record level and must be verified at the level
of the driver.
The registers in the remote must be adjacent; for example, 4001 and 4002.
The following procedure example is created assuming xmodbus records are used and available
on the system.
To configure a status record to support output to multiple registers
-
Open the status Row Edit dialog box for the status record you want to configure.
-
Select the Output tab.

-
Configure the Command field to support multiple register output. You can configure the setting for Command #1, Command #2, or both commands.
-
In the Command field, select (...).
The ogxOutputCMD dialog box appears.

-
Select Multiple Regs Output, and select Accept.
-
-
Select Configure Bit Pattern.
The Bit Mask Selector dialog box appears.

Note: The Bit Mask Selector options are only available if Single Reg Output or Multiple Regs Output is selected for the command.
-
Configure the 16-character bit patterns you want to send to the remote when the command is executed.
-
Select the tab of the command (Command #1 or Command #2) for which you want to configure the multiple registers output.
-
Select the bit numbers you want to include in your 16-character bit pattern or enter the number in the Value field.
-
Select OK.
-
-
Save the record changes.
Note: Be aware that the values entered in the Bit Mask Selector dialog box are affected by the Byte Swap Definition option selected on the Main tab of the xmodbus Row Edit dialog box for the xmodbus record associated with the status point's remote.
The Byte Swap Definition setting reorders bits, bytes, and words. For example, if SW is selected, the values of registers #1 and #2 as configured on the Bit Mask Selector dialog box are swapped. Value #1 is sent to the second register, and Value #2 is sent to the first register. For further information, refer to volume 2 of the RealTime Administrator documentation.
