Reports are deployed to the report server where they are stored for access by the ReportViewer and the Report Navigator.
After reports are completed at your report computer, there are two options for deployment. Deployment criteria varies depending on a report’s control type and whether it is configured for local or remote processing. Reports that are processed locally can be stored on a network folder or compiled into the application executable. Reports that are processed on a remote server are stored on the Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services report server, which can be programmed for secure external access.
A report can be deployed through:
-
Microsoft Visual Studio.NET
-
DNADeployRSUtil
Before deploying reports through Microsoft Visual Studio.NET, you will need to specify the server to which you are deploying your project. Microsoft Visual Studio gives you two technologies for deployment: Click Once and Windows Installer.
