Update the current value without affecting fresh data quality

Note: For information on overriding default configuration settings, see Modify configuration settings.

This feature enables you to modify the behavior that occurs when you update the current value of a telemetered point using either the DBPut or Fldput RealTime utility.

After you enable the feature, dbput or fldput commands to the current value of the point will only update the fresh data quality if the Point Type field on the telemetered point's row edit dialog in the Advanced Database Editor (ADE) is set to Manual Entry. If the field is not set to Manual Entry, the point retains its previous flag.fresh value.

The following table lists the specific current value field for each telemetered RealTime database (RTDB) Table. Each table has its own configuration setting for enabling the altered functionality.

RTDB Table

Field Name of Current Value

Configuration Setting

analog

curval

ANALOG_PUT_CURVAL_REUSES_FLAGFRESH

multistate

inputCurRaw, inputCurOffset

MULTISTATE_PUT_CURRAW _REUSES_FLAGFRESH

rate

currate

RATE_PUT_CURRATE_REUSES_FLAGFRESH

rtstring

RTSTRING_PUT_CURVAL_ REUSES_FLAGFRESH

status

cursta

STATUS_PUT_CURSTA_ REUSES_FLAGFRESH

Note: Enabling this feature does not affect the data processed into the point through either polling or manual fnput commands.

Follow the procedure below to prevent DBPut or Fldput updates to the current values of telemetered tables from affecting the fresh data quality.

To update the current value without affecting fresh data quality

  1. In the %DNADataRoot%\RealTime\config\Settings directory, either create or open the RealTime_VDBExtensions_Override.json file.

  2. Change the applicable configuration setting for the table from false to true.

  3. Save the file.

  4. Restart the RealTime service.
