Configure PI trend point

If the point is part of a trend and you want to add the data quality of the point to the trend, then you need to create two points. One contains the value, and the other contains the quality of the point on the trend.

To configure a PI trend point

  1. Configure the value point. Set Collection Type to 16, use the PubSub process to get the value of the point.

  2. Create a new (data quality) point associated with the value point.

  3. Name the (data quality) point using the following naming convention:

    <value tag name> + _DQ

    Example

If the name of a point is analog1, then the Data Quality (DQ) point is analog1_DQ. When a trend request requires data quality, it applies this rule to derive the data quality point to be used.

  4. Configure the (data quality) point. Set Collection Type to 17, use the PubSub process to get the data quality of the point.

This guarantees that both tags have the same timestamp; one for data value and one for the data quality.
