The DataSetTable element is the basic element use to build a DBEdit form, and contains all the other elements.

Note: All attributes are required unless indicated as optional.

The DataSetTable element attributes are as follows:

  • DataDisplayWidthMin is the value used to set the width—in pixels—of the control element that displays the field data if DisplayWidthToUse of a nested field element is set to Minimum.

  • DataDisplayWidthMedium is the value used to set the width—in pixels—of the control element that displays the field data if DisplayWidthToUse of a nested field element is set to Medium.

  • DataDisplayWidthMax is the value used to set the width—in pixels—of the control element that displays the field data if DisplayWidthToUse of a nested field element is set to Maximum.

  • Description is a description of the table. This is for information purposes only, and will not appear anywhere on the form.

  • IsAutoGenDisabled is a property that must exist for the Table Edit form to open. The value has no impact on the form.

  • IsDeleteDisabled is used to set the Administrator's ability to delete any record from the form. Setting the value to true removes the Administrator's ability to delete any record from the form. If set to false, the Administrator can remove a record from the database using either the menu or the toolbar. For example, this feature is turned off for protocol records, as those records are accessed through remote records.

    When set to true:

    When set to false:

  • IsInsertDisabled is used to set the Administrator's ability to either insert new records or duplicate existing records. Setting the value to true removes the Administrator's ability to either insert new records or duplicate existing records. If set to false, the Administrator can both remove records from the database and duplicate existing records.

Note: If the information of a child record depends on the parent record (for example, the child record name is the same as the parent record name), you should disable the Insert option.

    When set to true:

    When set to false:

  • LabelDisplayWidth is the maximum width in pixels of the field label.

  • Name is the name of the table, which must be lower case. The Table Edit form uses this name as the table name with which to query the database.

  • Optional: OtherUniqueConstraint is used to make the column values unique to one row. This feature is in addition to the constraints already set in the RealTime database (RTDB).

For example, the remconnjoin table sets OtherUniqueConstraint="rno, cno".

Note: While the remconnjoin table allows more than one record per remote and per connection, only one entry should exist for a remote and connection pair.

  • Optional: ToolTipText is the description of the item in the View menu that appears when you hover the mouse pointer over the item.
