In a typical single Historical scenario, the principal Historical systems do not have a RealTime service that execute Business Logic Tiers (BLTs) called from Microsoft SQL Server. In this case, you must designate the global table owner system to be responsible for this execution.
The following procedure details how to configure the Historical principal servers to use the RealTime service in the global table owner system.
To configure the global table owner system to execute BLTs called from the principal Historical systems
-
Connect to a Historical server in the principal Historical system.
-
Create a Data Source Name (DSN) to the global table owner system (for example, pdc1RTDB).
Note: To verify the global table owner system, use the Network Management Console (NMC), and navigate to the Owns the DistribuSyS Global Tables checkbox on the General tab of the system properties. For example, if the global table owner system is pdc1, the DSN of the Open Database Connectivity (ODBC) driver should be named pdc1RTDB.
For more information on how to create a DSN, refer to volume 1 of the AVEVA Enterprise SCADA RealTime Administrator documentation.
-
Repeat the process for all Historical servers in the principal Historical systems.
