Modify the passed-in record

If the method described in the EditForm element modifies values of the calling record, the system only saves the changes if the modified values exist in the form. These fields must be added outside of the Button element for the EditForm element to work.

To prevent the Row column form from displaying the columns that will be edited using a custom popup, set the IsVisibleInRowEditor attribute to false. Changes to the popup form are reflected in these hidden columns.

If these Field elements do not exist in the form when the method is invoked, the system generates an error message in regards to the missing columns.

The log file indicates the name of the assembly, class, and method, and the field that is expected to be defined. For example:

Important: If the EditForm element modifies the values of an existing record, the columns to be modified by the EditForm element must exist in the form. Otherwise, the system throws an exception indicating that the columns are missing.
