Understanding Flatline Watchdog alarming

Whenever a watchdog detects a configured behavior condition, it will generate a new persistent alarm. The alarm will be reported against the remote associated with the monitored point in the watchdog record. Persistent alarms are not removed from the alarm summary when they are acknowledged, and they do not trigger an alarm icon on the associated record. Return-to-normal alarm will replace the previously unacknowledged alarm. Any outstanding alarm conditions will be removed from the alarm summary when a watchdog record is disabled or removed from the RealTime database (RTDB). All watchdog alarms and state transitions generate an event. This applies to states that may generate an alarm and states that do not have an alarm condition associated.
The default severity of a watchdog stale alarm is high. This severity is configured in the Triggered state of the watchdog message set. The alarm raised will contain the following message:
Watchdog record <Watchdog Record Name> has been triggered, verify communication path for associated devices.
The default severity of a watchdog return-to-normal alarm is low. This severity is configured in the Normal state of the watchdog message set. The alarm raised will contain the following message:
Watchdog record <Watchdog Record Name> is normal, communication restored.
To use a different severity for different watchdogs, new message sets must be created to describe the desired severities for each state to be used for each watchdog.
Note: Only one alarm per monitored point will be reported against remote record.
