Note: For information on overriding default configuration settings, refer to Modify configuration settings.
The default delay value of the Gratuitous Address Resolution Protocol (GARP) is 6000 milliseconds. Follow the procedure below to increase or reduce the delay to go Hot during arbitration.
To implement the override
Do the following for every product in the silo (for example, Historical, RealTime, or ISPS), and on every computer to be affected.
-
In the %DNADataRoot%\<product name>\config\Settings directory, either create or open the CoreSDK_arbcustom.json file and add the following content to it:
{
"CoreSDK": {
"GarpWaitDelay": 10000,
}
}
Replace the value of 10000 with the period (in milliseconds) you wish to use for the GARP delay.
-
Save the file, and re-start the Arbitration service.
Any dependent services on Arbitration (such as RealTime or Historical) will also need to be re-started, and it is the delay until they go Hot that is to be altered.
Note: If the project already has a configuration setting file for custom values for CoreSDK, such as CoreSDK_projectCustomFile.json (or similar), then you only need to add the key name to that file at the appropriate nesting of JSON.
