AVEVA Enterprise SCADA authorities are not linked to AVEVA Enterprise SCADA permissions at the Active Directory (AD) level. Permissions exist within the Active Directory Application Mode (ADAM) database. ADAM authorities are members of ADAM permissions to gain AVEVA Enterprise SCADA rights. AD authorities are created during the installation to mirror ADAM authorities and to allow for easier management of users at the AD level. AD authorities are members of the ADAM authorities. The creation of a new authority (if it is to hold AVEVA Enterprise SCADA rights) must be performed in ADAM using the Network Management Console (NMC). For more information, refer to Create a New Authority.
