In the event of an alarm condition configured for email alarm notification, the application creates, by default, a text file in the following directory:
%DNADataRoot%\RealTime\Temp\CustomApps\EmailAlarming
The email message is created on the basis of elements in the text file.
The name of this file takes the following format:
hostname yyyy-mm-dd HH.MM.SS.sss.txt
Where:
-
hostname = the name of the AVEVA Enterprise SCADA host where the email alarm notification process is running.
-
yyyy= the current year.
-
mm= the current numeric month.
-
dd = the current numeric day.
-
HH= the current hour in 24-hour format.
-
MM= the current minute.
-
SS.sss = the current seconds and partial seconds.
Each line in the file takes the following format:
EmailAddressList~OnCall~StationName~AlarmSeverity~PointName~AlarmMessage~AlarmDateAndTime~PointDescription~AdhocMessage~HostName~EmailSubject
Sample Message
joe.doe@email.com,jane.doe@email.com,~station2~high~analog1~manual value = 110 PERCENT (HIGH-HIGH STATE)~11/20/2013 14:39:00~~OGP-VM-7-6-1~SCADA Email Alarm
The "text2email" RealTime process monitors the %DNADataRoot%\RealTime\Temp\CustomApps\EmailAlarming directory every minute for new email text files. When it finds a new file, the process:
-
Composes the email message.
-
Send the email to the SMTP server.
-
Puts a copy of the email into the OnCallAudit table.
After processing, the name of the text file changes to hostname yyyy-mm-dd HH.MM.SS.sss.txt.yyyy-mm-dd HH.MM.SS.sss.bak.
