Determine where to install the component during configuration

Business Logic Tier (BLT) components can be installed on any computer that has the AVEVA Enterprise SCADA product installed.

BLT components may be started as part of any product component. This leaves a lot of room for choosing the installation location. In general, BLT components should be distributed and installed as part of the product component that contains them. For instance, the RealTime product contains many BLT components that are distributed and installed with RealTime.

Another factor in choosing the installation location is the AVEVA Enterprise SCADA product services that the component uses. For example, a component that uses the RealTime.HighPerformanceDB class must be installed on a RealTime host. This is because the HighPerformanceDB class accesses the RealTime database (RTDB) directly on the local host.
