Triggering methods

All AVEVA Enterprise SCADA methods are available to use in an Application Calculation Engine (ACE) routine. ACE executes equations under the following conditions:

• Periodically (specifiable in seconds).

• When the numeric value of any of the equation’s input variables have changed.

• On startup.

• On alarm change for a RealTime path.

  Note: If the value of a PubSub topic is non-numeric, it cannot trigger an ACE routine. Only use PubSub topics that have associated numeric values. The exception is an internal field. For example, rtstring.<name>.inchtime.
