About the Open Platform Communications (OPC) Tag Browser

The OPC Tag Browser is a simple OPC client that can be used to browse OPC Server address space using the AVEVA Enterprise SCADA OPC Client.

Concepts

  • The OPC Tag Browser can be used to assist in the configuration of OPC point coordinates.

  • The OPC Tag Browser uses the AVEVA Enterprise SCADA OPC Client to browse OPC Server address space.

  • Only OPC Servers seen by the AVEVA Enterprise SCADA OPC Client can be browsed.

  • Only tag names can be browsed by the OPC Tag Browser.

Actions

  • Open the OPC Tag Browser.

  • Navigate through the folders to view/use the various telemetry points.

  • Drag telemetry points from the OPC Tag Browser to ADE.

  • Copy and paste telemetry points from the OPC Tag Browser to ADE.
