Follow the procedure below for using the Name field to filter tables listed in the Advanced Database Editor (ADE) window.
To filter tables in ADE
-
Select the Name field next to the table you want to expand.
The field becomes active and displays the phrase Enter Search Criteria.
-
Enter the name of the record you want to search for.
Notes: The tree view filter supports the use of two wildcards, an asterisk (*) and an underscore (_). The asterisk is used to match any number of characters, while an underscore is used to match for a single character wildcard.
Because record names allow underscores in them, you need to use the escape character (\) in front of the underscore to differentiate between an underscore as a wildcard and as a literal character. -
Press Enter.
The table expands and displays the rows that match the search criteria.

Note: All search criteria are saved. Use the dropdown arrow in the Name field to recall previous searches.
