Note: For information on overriding default configuration settings, refer to Modify configuration settings.

Follow the procedure below to generate stateless alarms for child points in indefinite alarm suppression.

To configure the generation of state alarms

  1. In the %DNADataRoot%\RealTime\config\Settings directory, either create or open the RealTime_AlmSuppressRTN.json file

  2. The file contains the following two values:

    "RealTime" > "ALMSUPPRESSION_INDEF_RTN": true

    "RealTime" > "ALMSUPPRESSION_STALEREMOTE_CANCEL": true

  3. For the ALMSUPPRESSION_INDEF_RTN value, do one of the following:

    • Set the value to true to have the system generate stateless alarms for child points in indefinite alarm suppression.

    • Set the value to false to retain any pre-existing alarms on a child point in the Alarm Summary window for the period of alarm suppression.

  4. For the ALMSUPPRESSION_STALEREMOTE_CANCEL value, do one of the following:

    • Set the value to true to cancel alarm suppression for indefinitely suppressed points when the polling remote is staled (default legacy behavior).

    • Set the value to false to keep the system from canceling alarm suppression. Alarm suppression will remain in effect after the remote resumes polling.

  5. Save the file.

  6. Restart the RealTime service.
