AbsoluteValueScalingValidation plugin

  • Last UpdatedApr 24, 2025
  • 1 minute read

This plugin checks if the entered minimum and maximum values have the same sign. If the signs are different, the system generates the following error message:

When absolute value for level alarming is enabled, minimum and maximum scaling values must be equal but with opposite signs.

The following parameters must be set:

  • Name="AbsoluteValueScalingValidation".

  • Args="<name of column for scaling check>,<name of column to enable scaling check>".

For example, the engineering units (EGUs) conversion fields in the Input tab of the Analog Row Edit form—Minimum (raw) and Maximum (raw)—are set with the AbsoluteValueScalingValidation constraint.

<Group Name="Input" >

<SubGroup Name="Conversion" >

<Field Name="iengr_@rawmin">

<FieldPlugIn Name="AbsoluteValueScalingValidation" Args="iengr_@rawmax,hilow_@absolute_alarming" />

</Field>

<Field Name="iengr_@rawmax">

<FieldPlugIn Name="AbsoluteValueScalingValidation" Args="iengr_@rawmin,hilow_@absolute_alarming" />

</Field>

</SubGroup>

If the values and signs for Minimum (raw) and Maximum (raw) are different, the system generates an error.
