Prevent additional communication failure alarms

Note: For information on overriding default configuration settings, refer to Modify configuration settings.

Follow this procedure to inhibit the system from generating further communication failure alarms for a Remote Terminal Unit (RTU) in an abnormal state after the initial failure alarm.

Note: The system will continue to log events in relation to the RTU's communication status.

To prevent additional communication failure alarms

1. In the %DNADataRoot%\RealTime\config\Settings directory, either create or open the remote.CommunicationAlarm.json file.

2. In the following line, change NO to YES.

   RemoteCommunicationAlarm > "ENABLE_INDEFINITE_ALARM_SUPPRESSION": "NO"

3. Save the file.

4. Restart the RealTime service.
