PubSub heartbeat timeout

Note: For information on overriding default configuration settings, refer to Modify configuration settings.

When the Hot server on large-sized systems with different system topologies fails to synchronize with the other systems after a RealTime service failover, the following messages may appear in the %DNADataRoot%\RealTime\Log\oaserrlog.log file.

On the new Hot server:

2024-05-24 13:15:24.644 PSengine_15300 [TID=0x311c] ERROR - Machine 10.188.0.32 declared us too slow

On the new Standby server:

2024-05-24 13:15:06.271 PSengine_23180 [TID=0x455c] ERROR - Machine 10.188.0.33 declared dead (heartbeat timeout)

If such messages appear, follow the procedure below to increase the default value (60000 ms) of the PubSub heartbeat timeout to enable the new Hot server to synchronize with other systems.

  1. In the %DNADataRoot%\Common\config\Settings directory, either create or open the SystemServices.json file.

  2. Add the following object:

    {

    "SystemServices: {

    "PubSubHeartBeatTimeoutMs": 70000

    }

    }

  3. Restart the Common service.

  4. Restart all services below Common.
