You can create a new changeset using the Command Line Interface (CLI).

To create a changeset

  1. On the desktop, double-click the Windows PowerShell for DNA shortcut.

    Windows PowerShell for DNA opens.

  2. Execute the following commands:

    set-silo RealTime

    dnachangeset create --type <type> [--title "<optional title>"] [--description "<optional description>"]

    Where:

    • --type <type> is mandatory for each command and describes a valid changeset type (for example, --type display).

Note: A combination of changesets can be packaged together in the same package file. Currently, only RealTime database (RTDB) (realtime) and display type changesets are supported by the dnachangeset tool.

    • --title "<optional title>" is an optional parameter used to add a title to the changeset (for example, --title "Tank Displays")

    • --description "<optional description>" is an optional parameter used to add a description to the changeset (for example, --description "Updated displays for station 4")

  3. Optional: While creating a changeset, you can also simultaneously assign it to a user by executing the following command:

dnachangeset create --type <type> [--user <username>]

    Where:

    • --type <type> is mandatory for each command and describes a valid changeset type (for example, --type display).

Note: A combination of changesets can be packaged together in the same package file. Currently, only realtime and display type changesets are supported by the dnachangeset tool.

    • --user <username> is the valid Windows username assigned to the individual/group responsible for the changeset (for example, --user dnaSCADAAdmin).

  4. Press Enter.

If the issued command was successful, the new changeset id will be returned.

    For example:

    dnachangeset create --type <type>

    Changeset 1 created

You can now use changeset id 1 to group type specific changes.
