Note: For information on overriding default configuration settings, refer to Modify configuration settings.
Before configuring and saving a display layout, first configure certain Microsoft Windows display settings.
To configure Windows for display layouts
-
In Windows, select Start.
-
Enter Display Settings, and press Enter.
A dialog box for adjusting screen resolution and orientation appears.
-
Arrange the monitor icons such that they form an aligned rectangle of adjacent monitors.
Although Microsoft Windows supports random arrangements of monitors, easy eXtended Operator Station (ezXOS) only supports a rectangular configuration of one or more rows of adjacent monitors.
-
Configure all monitors to use the same resolution.
Although Microsoft Windows supports monitors with different resolutions, the ezXOS requires that all monitors use the same resolution.
-
Configure the upper, left-hand monitor as the primary monitor (main display).
-
Optional: If more than one monitor is used to show displays, override the number of rows and columns of the monitors at a computer. To support more than one monitor, modify the layout by using a JSON file.
-
Navigate to the following directory:
%DNADataRoot%\ezXOS\9.0\config\Settings
-
Open the ezXOS_custom.DisplayRooms.json file, or create it if it doesn't already exist.
-
Adjust the key values as desired:
{
"ezXOS": {
"XOS_CRT_ROWS": 1,
"XOS_CRT_COLUMNS": 1
}
}
For example, if "XOS_CRT_ROWS" is set to 2 and "XOS_CRT_COLUMNS" is set to 3, there will be six monitors aligned in two rows of three. Since changing these settings affects all users of the computers, it should only be configured once, if at all.
-
Save the File.
-
Restart the RealTime service.
