The AbsoluteValueAlarmCheckingValidation plugin enforces the rule that the entered value must be greater than, or equal to, zero.
The following parameters must be set for the FieldPlugIn to check the constraints:
-
Name="AbsoluteValueAlarmCheckingValdation".
-
Args takes the column to enable the absolute value check.
Note: If the column in the argument does not exist in the form, the system will generate an error and close the Advanced Database Editor (ADE).
For example, the Hi Alarm Limit field on the Alarming tab of the analog Row Edit form is configured with the AbsoluteValueAlarmCheckingValidation plugin. The system enforces validation on the Hi Alarm Limit field when Use absolute value for level alarming (corresponding to the record's hilow.absolute_alarming field) is selected.
<Group Name="Alarming">
<SubGroup Name="Level Alarming" >
<Field Name="hilow_@hilim">
<FieldPlugIn Name="AbsoluteValueAlarmCheckingValidation" Args="hilow_@absolute_alarming" />
</Field>

The Use absolute value for level alarming setting is enabled, and the Hi Alarm Limit field is configured with AbsoluteValueAlarmCheckingValdation checking. If you enter a negative value in the Hi Alarm Limit field, the system generates the following error message:
When absolute value for level alarming is enabled, this field must be greater than, or equal to, zero.
