Modify the mode switch wait timeout

  • Last UpdatedApr 07, 2026
  • 1 minute read

If a mode switch fails to succeed after you attempt to run it following the start of the RealTime service, increase the Mode Switch arbitration cache wait timeout. This wait timeout allows the Business Logic Tier (BLT) arbitration cache to finish intializing.

Note: The default wait timeout is sufficient for small- to large-system deployments.

Modify the Mode Switch arbitration cache wait timeout for BLT arbitration cache initialization

The default setting is defined in the RealTime_ModeSwitch.json file located in the %DNAInstallRoot%\RealTime\config\settings directory.

{

"RealTime": {

"MODE_SWITCH_ARBITRATION_CACHE_WAIT_TIME_MS": 5000

}

}

For information on modifying the values within JSON files, refer to Modify configuration settings.
