Test mode alarm filtering

Test mode alarm filtering is used to filter nuisance alarms, generated from testing or maintenance activities, out of the Alarm Summary window.

Since many alarms are generated when the system is being tested or undergoing maintenance, this type of filtering can significantly reduce the number of unnecessary alarms that appear in the Controller's Alarm Summary window. Test mode sets can be configured for groups of records that are predictably affected when a specific part of the system is being maintained or tested. When testing or maintenance is performed, "test mode" can be activated for the related test mode set(s). This filters the alarms for all the records in the given test mode set out of the Alarm Summary window. While test mode is active, the system prepends the following text to the alarm messages for all associated database alarms and events generated against the record: TEST MODE –.

Once test mode is deactivated, the Alarm Summary window's behavior returns to normal and displays all generated alarms.
