Source Data Access Layer (DAL) configuration file example

The DriverAlias configuration defined for DBEDIT in the DALConfig_Default.xml file is set to RealTime. However, you should set Pivot and Transfer DriverAlias configuration in the source computer to pdctst, as this is the name of the target system.

The configuration steps on the source computer are as follows:

1. Create a folder called pdctst under %DNADataRoot%\ADE\config\DAL\.

2. Under the %DNADataRoot%\ADE\config\DAL\pdctst directory, create a folder called control_room.

3. Make a copy of the DALConfig_Default.xml file and save it as DALConfig_DBEDIT.xml in the control_room folder.

4. In the copied file, remove everything except the RealTime DriverAlias element.

5. Change the name of the DriverAlias element from RealTime to pdctst.

6. Delete all DriverType elements in the pdctst DriverAlias element except for the DBEdit and BLT DriverType element.

7. Edit the following:

   • DriverAlias – set this to the target system. For example, pdctst.

   • Host – set this to the service name on the target computer. For example, pdctstRealtime.

   • SECURITY_LOGIN_ID – set this to dnaAPP_<system name>@<domain name>.

   • NumOfThreads – set this to 1.

This is an example of the DALConfig_DBEDIT.xml file is for AVEVA Enterprise SCADA 2022.

This DALConfig_DBEDIT.xml file is located in the %DNADataRoot%\ADE\config\DAL\pdctst\control_room directory.

There is no change to the DALConfig on the target computers.
