In order to successfully arrange the elements of a form in the desired order, it is important to understand the sequence in which DBEditDisplaySchemaMerge processes folders, files, and the elements within the files. It is also important to understand the items to which the ComesAfter attribute can refer.
-
Folders are processed in the order described in Understand the ordering of DBEditdisplaySchemaMerge.
-
Files inside the folders are processed in alphanumeric order.
-
Elements in either the <table>.xml or <table>.Replace.xml file appear in the Advanced Database Editor (ADE) in the order in which they appear in the file.
-
Elements in the <table>.Alter.xml file are presented in reverse order if you do not use the ComesAfter attribute.
-
The ComesAfter attribute must refer to a tab that already exists in the processed files. If not, the system generates the following error/message:
Found a 'ComesAfter' value of '<XYZ>' that does not exist
Where:
-
<XYZ> is the tab referenced in the ComesAfter attribute.
-
-
Processing tabs is different from displaying tabs. DBEditDisplaySchemaMerge must process tabs before the ComesAfter attribute can refer to them. Displaying of tabs follows only after the processing of tabs.
