The DALMultiPublisher tool is installed as part of the Tools/Debugging feature. If installed, it is available from all product silos.
When the DALMultiPublisher starts, it requires you to select either a control room or remote Data Access Layer (DAL) configuration. When the first publication is triggered by selecting Publish, the process of connecting the PubSub DAL driver to the PubSub Engine is initiated. If a control room configuration is selected, it creates a direct connection to the PubSub Engine. If a remote configuration is selected, the Remote Client Service (RCS) connects to the remote PubSub Engine on the behalf of the tool.

To close the existing PubSub DAL driver and create a new one, select Selecting the PubSub > Reconnect.
Note: This action does not disconnect the driver from the PubSub Engine, because the drivers use a shared global connection that must always be kept open.
The DALMultiPublisher does not detect or display a PubSub connection failure until an attempt is made to publish a topic. The status bar at the bottom periodically updates to indicate that the PubSub DAL driver is disconnected and is attempting to reconnect. Once the PubSub system is available, the DALMultiPublisher reconnects automatically and topics can be published on demand.
