Follow this procedure to have the application send email messages regarding flow computer events uploaded to AVEVA Enterprise SCADA as alarms.

To configure email notifications for flow computer events

Note: Proto_event records are stored in the proto_event table, and are created and edited using the proto_event Row Edit dialog box within the Advanced Database Editor (ADE). For general information on ADE and how to create records, refer to the Advanced Database Editor (ADE) Administrator documentation.

  1. In ADE, select View > Gas Operations.

  2. Create a new proto_event record and open the proto_event Row Edit dialog box.

  3. Select XOS Alarm to have the system upload flow computer events as alarms.

  4. Create a new remote record and navigate to the Alarming tab in the remote Row Edit dialog box.

  5. Select Enable Email Notification.

  6. In the Email Alert Group field, enter or select the name of a valid alert group record.

  7. Select a Minimum Alert Severity.

The application sends an email message when an alarm's severity level is equal to, or greater than, the Minimum Alert Severity. No message is sent when an alarm's severity level is below the Minimum Alert Severity.

Notes: The severity should be less than the severity of flow computer event alarms.

The system excludes return-to-normal alarms from the minimum alert severity filter.

  8. Configure the Main tab in the EmailDBAlmCfg Row Edit dialog box as outlined in Filter database alarms by keyphrases.

  9. Ensure that the Alarm DB Filter field on the Main tab in the EmailDBAlmCfg Row Edit dialog box is set to remote.
