Protocol Row Edit: Main tab

Name

Select (...) and select the name of the protocol record from the Protocol Select dialog box.

Description

Enter a description of the record. The Description can be up to 47 characters in length. The Description appears in the select dialog box accessed by selecting (...) next to the Protocol field on the connection and remote Row Edit dialog boxes. The select dialog box lists all the available protocols used for communicating with remote field devices.

Each protocol should have a unique description, as the system will present Administrators with these descriptions when they select protocols on connection and remote records.

Enabled

Select to enable the protocol for use. If not selected, the protocol will not appear in the select dialog box accessed by selecting (...) next to the Protocol field on the connection and remote Row Edit dialog boxes.
