AVEVA Enterprise SCADA

Historical PI

The PI Server moves data between the RealTime database (RTDB) Tables and the Archive.

The data that is displayed in the image below shows the data flow used when configuring AVEVA Enterprise SCADA to send time series data to the PI Historian.

In either pathway, the data that is gathered is determined by the templates that you set up.

Once your PI Tags have been defined in RTDB tables, they are sent to the PI Server, either through PI AutoPointSync (PI APS) or directly from the Advanced Database Editor (ADE). The PI Server loads all of the PI Tags created in the templates into the classic table. When it is time to update the information (or how often your system updates are configurable), then PI-OASyS consults the classic table and begins collecting data with the latest matching readings from the appropriate RTDB table. Any data which has changed since the last reading is copied into the Archive.
