Configurable alarms and events

You can configure both the severity and the message text of configurable alarms and events using one of the following three methods:

  • Configure msginfo sets — Using this method, you can configure the severity of the alarm and change the message text associated with certain alarm conditions for a specific subset of points. You can then associate different severities and messages to different points for the same alarm condition.

  • Configure an Alarm Override — Using this method, you can only configure the severity of the alarm and associate different severities for alarm conditions based on which RealTime database (RTDB) table and/or which AVEVA Enterprise SCADAprocess raises the alarm condition.

  • Edit the RealTime_ConfigurableAlarmSeverity.json file — Using this method for the existing alarming conditions, you can switch the feature on or off.
