Appendix: Allow telemetered points to use multiple coordinates on different polling ranges

Note: For information on overriding default configuration settings, refer to Modify configuration settings.

By default, when a single telemetered point gets its value from multiple input/output (IO) coordinates (for example, rate points using pulse and analog inputs, or status points with multiple bit addresses for a single status), the system assumes these coordinates are polled within the same contiguous address range in the Remote Terminal Unit (RTU). By toggling a registry setting, you can configure status, rate, and multistate points to use multiple coordinates on different polling ranges without fear of polling failure.

To allow telemetered points to use multiple coordinates on different polling ranges

  1. In the %DNADataRoot%\RealTime\config\Settings directory, either create or open the RealTime_libcommEnhance.json file.

  2. In the file, ensure the following value is set to true:

    "RealTime" > "KRMODE_OVERRIDE": true

  3. Save the file.

  4. Restart the RealTime service.
