AVEVA Enterprise SCADA

Alarm Audit table

  • Last UpdatedApr 24, 2025

The Historical Alarm Audit (almaudit) table audits alarms and their acknowledgment by Controllers and/or applications. The table is part of the Event database in the historical Microsoft SQL Server.

When AVEVA Enterprise SCADA generates an alarm, the AlarmSerialization program records the alarm in both the almaudit table and the RealTime database (RTDB) almsum table. Similarly, when a Controller acknowledges an alarm, the AlarmSerialization program writes the alarm acknowledgement to the almaudit table, in addition to updating the almsum table. Similarly, when a Controller acknowledges an alarm, the AlarmSerialization program writes the alarm acknowledgement to the almaudit table and updates the almsum table.

Auditors can use the Historical record in the almaudit table to examine the frequency and details of alarms seen by Controllers at any given time. While the almaudit table is similar to the OperActivitySummary table, the former contains only the actual alarms generated and acknowledged. Since the events and alarms may be inhibited separately for a given telemetered point or application-related alarm, in reality a Controller may only see an event for an alarm while the alarm itself is inhibited. By examining the contents of the almaudit table, an auditor can focus only on the alarms that were shown to the Controller and the actions taken to acknowledge the alarms.
