Associate a status stale point with a RealTime point

The application monitors the Sub-Remote Status Indicator stale point associated with a RealTime point, the former of which indicates either that the concentrator/device has valid data for the point, or that the point's data quality is stale.

Notes: In the following procedure, an analog point is used as an example. The procedure is the same for status, rate, multistate, and tank points.

Both the status point used as the Sub-Remote Status Indicator stale point, and the RealTime points associated with it, must in turn be associated with the same remote.

The system sets RealTime points to stale when the associated Sub-Remote Status Indicator stale point is in a "OPEN" state.

An integrity update poll request for the remote will be issued immediately when a Sub-Remote Status Indicator point transitions from an "OPEN" state to a "CLOSE" state. In the case when the remote is using a Report-By-Exception (RBE) type protocol (for example, Open Platform Communications (OPC)), a second integrity update poll request will be issued after a configured delay. The second integrity update poll request is to allow rate points to be processed correctly. Rate points need two successful polls before they will show valid data. Refer to Set minimum integrity update poll time for more information.

For further information on the analog table, refer to RealTime tables.

To associate a status stale point with a RealTime point

  2. In the Sub-Remote Status Indicator field, select the name of a status point serving as a Sub-Remote Status Indicator stale point.
