Configure a point as safety-related

Perform this procedure to flag a point as safety-related, which allows you to easily filter the point in the RealTime database (RTDB) for reports and identify when a system change affects the point.

Note: In the following procedure, an analog point is used as an example. The procedure is similar for configuring rate, status, multistate, rtstring, and flowTotalConfig points. The Main tab in the analog Row Edit dialog box is opened through the analog table listing in the Advanced Database Editor (ADE). For general information on ADE, and further information on the analog table, refer to the Advanced Database Editor (ADE) Administrator documentation and RealTime tables, respectively.

To configure a point as safety-related

1. Navigate to the Alarming tab in the analog Row Edit dialog box.

   

2. Select Safety Related Point.
