Auto configuration

Follow this procedure to automatically generate configuration files for deployment to the listening system and the system running TCPListener.

The TCP Listener Configuration Tool is used to generate the said files. However, you must manually deploy the files to the appropriate systems.

For instructions on manually configuring the TCPListener software, refer to Manual configuration.

  1. On the source system, execute the text_save command.

  2. Copy the following files from the source system to the same directory on the listening system:

    %DNADataRoot%\RealTime\database\INTEL_NT\*.l

  3. On the source system, navigate to the following directory:

    %DNAInstallRoot%\RealTime\bin

  4. Double-click "TcpListenerCfg.GUI.exe".

The TCP Listener Configuration Tool appears.

  5. In the Production System Realtime Service IP field, select the network interface of the source system RealTime box.

  6. Select one of the following:

    • Server Port

    • Relay Service

  7. Depending on your choice in Step 6, proceed as follows:

    1. If Server Port:

      1. Enter the IP Address of the system on which the TCPListener software will run.

      2. Enter the Starting Port for a range of ports that the system will assign to TCPListener for each connection.

      1. If Relay Service:

        1. Enter the IP Address of the system on which the OASyS DNA Socket Server Relay Service will run.

        2. Enter the Starting Port for a range of port pairs to which the listening system and the system running TCPListener will each connect.

      2. In the Output Directory field, select the target directory for the generated files.

      3. Select Run.

If no validation issues exist, and the output folder does not contain any previously generated files, the system builds the configuration files. Process messages appear in the Log field.

If validation issues exist, the system prompts you to correct the issues and does not proceed with the building of configuration files.

Similarly, if the output directory contains any previously generated files, the system generates a message asking if you want to overwrite the files.

Note: If you proceed with the overwrite, the system erases all files within the output directory.

      4. The RemConnJoin Table will appear and you must select the remote connection combinations to configure before the configuration completes.

      5. Select OK.

      6. When the file build is complete, the following occurs:

        • The Log field on the TCP Listener Configuration Tool outputs the message, "Configuration Output Complete".

        • The system opens the output directory in Windows Explorer. The following folder and files appear therein:

          • temp

          • connection_lo.l

          • remconnjoin_lo.bat

          • remote_lo.l

          • Tcplistener.xml

      7. If you selected the Relay Service connection method in Step 6, proceed as follows:

        1. Select Relay Service Configuration Assistant.

The Relay Service Config Tips dialog box opens.

        2. Navigate to the %DNADataRoot%\Tools\config\Settings directory on the server running the OASyS DNA Socket Server Relay Service.

        3. Either create or open the SocketServerRelayService.json file.

        4. If the configuration of the TCPListener item is different than the one described in the Relay Service Config Tips dialog box, modify the configuration file to match the suggested values and restart the OASyS DNA Socket Server Relay Service.

For further information, refer to OASyS DNA Socket Server Relay Service.

      What to do next

      Proceed to Deploy configuration files.
