Follow this procedure to create a Decode Define based on an existing Decode Define. The new Decode Define retains the configuration settings of the original Decode Define, except for the attached templates.
To create a Decode Define from an existing Decode Define
-
In the Decode Define tab of the Data Payload Processor (DPP) Config Tool window, right-click anywhere in the row of the Decode Define of interest and select Edit Define.
The New Decode Define dialog box opens.

-
Enter a unique Decode ID for the new Decode Define.
Note: If you enter an ID that belongs to an existing Decode Define, DPP updates the fields on the New Decode Define dialog box with information specific to that Decode Define.
-
Exit the Decode ID field, either by pressing Tab or selecting a different field on the New Decode Define dialog box.
DPP removes any Attached Templates.
-
Configure the remaining parameters as desired.
For information on configuring the parameters, refer to Step 3 and following in Create a Decode Define.
-
Select Save.
-
Back on the DPP Config Tool window, select Refresh.
The new Decode Define should now appear in the Decode Define tab of the DPP Config Tool window.
