The general approach when tuning Omnicomm is to choose the smallest number of Omnicomms based on your connection/remote/circuit configuration to obtain your desired poll cycle.
To tune Omnicomm
-
Choose a starting number of Omnicomms based on previous experience and system configurations.
-
Choose to increase or reduce the number of Omnicomms depending on whether the desired poll cycle is achieved.
-
When the system is running, review the poll cycle on one circuit, and if not met, try one or more of the following strategies:
-
increase the poll cycle
-
adjust poll delays
-
split the connections to additional circuits for the same Omnicomm
-
increase the number of Omnicomm processes and move some connections from a circuit to a different Omnicomm (making sure not to exceed the maximum recommended number of Omnicomm processes)
