Follow this procedure to configure the number of readings the application should use in calculating the arithmetic mean.

Note: In the procedure below, an analog point is used as an example. The procedure is similar for rate points.

The Analog Control dialog box is opened through either a station schematic or the Analog Summary window. For information on the Analog Summary window, refer to the AVEVA Enterprise SCADA HMI Controller documentation.

To configure a point's "n" value

  1. Open the Analog Control dialog box.

  2. Select Average.

The Average Analog dialog box opens.

The current average value of the point appears in the Average field.

Note: The corresponding dialog box for a rate point displays the average accumulator value in addition to the average rate value.

  3. In the Value 'n' field, enter one of the following:

    • 0 (default) or 1 โ€“ Disables calculation of the average value.

    • A number from 2 to 16, inclusive โ€“ The number of curval readings to use in calculating the average value of the analog point.

  4. Select Submit.
