Configure mode tables

  • Last UpdatedApr 24, 2025

You can use the tabs in the doas_mode Row Detail and Row Edit dialog boxes records to configure mode records.

Mode groups can be created by using the doas_mode Row Details dialog box.

Warning: Choose your mode group names prior to configuring modes. Do not leave this field empty.

The following table lists the fields and buttons on the doas_mode Row Details dialog box.

Field

Description

Name

Enter the Name of the mode record.

Description

Enter up to 47 characters describing the mode. This field is for information purposes only. The content can be notes about the record, or it’s association with other points. This information will appear in the result tables for the points on the ezXOS interface.

Mode Group

This field is used to define a set of modes where only one mode in the group is activated. There can be several mode groups defined in the system. For example, a dataset might have a mode group called shiftcontrol, which defines day shift and night shift modes. Another dataset might have a backupSystemFailure mode group with modes backupOperational and backupFailed. Each mode is assigned to privilege records for the dataset and systems to which the mode applies. Activating a mode would enable its privileges. Select (...) to access the Mode Group Select dialog box. The number of modes in a group is limited only by the total number of modes in the distributed project.

The doas_mode_group Select dialog box provides the Administrator with a list of points to choose from. It appears when the Administrator selects (...) next to the Mode Group field on either the Row Detail or Row Edit dialog boxes.
