Alarming for Download List command failures

  • Last UpdatedApr 24, 2025
  • 1 minute read

When a Download List command fails, the system:

  • Generates a persistent alarm against the remote indicating which list failed to download

  • Generates an event message with the same information

Note: The system does not generate Download List alarms when the remote is offscan.

After you acknowledge the alarm, it remains in the Alarm Summary window until the Download List command finally completes successfully. At the time of the first successful command, which previously failed, the system:

  • Generates a success alarm

  • Logs an event against the remote

After you acknowledge the success alarm, the system clears it from the Alarm Summary window.

Each list associated with a remote has individual alarms. For example, if there are two download lists configured for a remote, and the download of both lists fail, the system generates two alarms.

As per the default functionality, Administrator can inhibit alarms and events using the remote's alarm/event inhibit configuration. Administrators can also inhibit download list alarms using the "Measurement Alarms Override" functionality. For further information, refer to volume 1 of the RealTime Administrator documentation.
