To configure the listen only connection for server port mode

  1. Navigate to the Main tab in the connection Row Edit dialog box.

  2. In the Protocol field, select the desired protocol that supports Listen Only polling mode.

  3. Navigate to the Scan Edit tab in the connection Row Edit dialog box.

  4. In the Comm. Mode field, select Listen Only.

  5. In the No communication timeout (sec) field, enter a value that is at least twice as large as the value appearing in the RTU Poll Delay (HH:MM:SS) field on the Scan Parameters tab in the remote Row Edit dialog box for the associated remote.

    Configuring the No communication timeout (sec) field as such serves to avoid nuisance timeout alarms.

  6. Navigate to the Physical Connection Edit tab in the connection Row Edit dialog box.

  7. In the Term. Server/Host Name field, enter the IP address of the RTU as configured in the TCPListener.xml file.

  8. In the Port Number field, enter the Listen Only connection port number as configured in the <WritePort> section of the TCPListener.xml file.
