Understanding protocols

Historically, hundreds of protocol drivers have been custom written for AVEVA Enterprise SCADA. AVEVA is committed to bringing common Oil and Gas industry protocol drivers into the product to ensure consistency.

Attention: When making certain changes to protocol records and RealTime database (RTDB) table records, some changes may not take effect until the connection associated with the remote is placed offscan and then onscan again. You should verify that your changes are active. If unsure, you should clear and select the Onscan checkbox on the applicable Connection Control dialog box.
