Define basic application settings by creating an ImportExportGen record.
ImportExportGen records are stored in the ImportExportGen table, and configured and edited using the ImportExportGen Row Edit dialog box within the Advanced Database Editor (ADE). For general information on ADE and how to create records, refer to the AVEVA Enterprise SCADA Advanced Database Editor (ADE) Administrator documentation.

To define basic application settings
-
In ADE, select View > ImportExport and navigate to the ImportExportGen Row Edit dialog box.

-
Refer to the table below for instructions on configuring the items on the ImportExportGen Row Edit dialog box.

Debug Logging
Select yes to log information to an "ImportExport.log" file stored in %DNADataRoot\RealTime\log.
Dataset
Select (...) and select the name of the dataset you want to associate with this record from the Dataset Select dialog box.
A dataset contains privileges assigned for each system and mode. Once a record is assigned to a data set value, the dataset can only be changed to a value for which the system has a privilege record. A record’s dataset can not be changed in such a way that the system can no longer access the record.
Process Timer Interval
Enter the number of seconds between process cycles.
A process cycle consists of checking each of the import/ export configurations to see if it's time to attempt to import a file or export a file and, if so, proceeding with the operation (default=10).
Thread Busy Limit
If the thread from the previous processing cycle is still busy at the beginning of a new processing cycle, the application does not execute the new thread.
Enter the maximum number of process cycles that the application can skip before the service determines that there is a significant problem with the busy thread. Once that limit is reached, the service attempts to terminate the busy thread and proceed with processing (default = 6).
Temporary Folder
Enter the path to the folder where the application can create temporary working files (default = %DNADataRoot%\temp).
