How the protocol table interacts with protocols

  • Last UpdatedApr 24, 2025

For Omnicomm to load and associate protocols with connection and remote records, a protocol record must exist within the protocol table when Omnicomm starts for each protocol. If a protocol record for your protocol does not exist when Omnicomm starts, you will need to restart either the RealTime service or all Omnicomm processes after creating the protocol record. Omnicomm will use the OCM_GetProtocol and OCM_INIT methods to associate your protocol assembly with the protocol record (see OCM_Init method and OCM_Init method).
