The Application Calculation Engine (ACE) Control dialog box provides an interface that allows you to enable and run ACE procedures, as well as to view Point Alarms.
To use the ACE Control dialog box
-
Open the ACE Summary window.
-
Select the row header of the desired record.
The ACE Control dialog box opens.

Note: The Stale icon can show in the ACE Control dialog box for two reasons: either the record is disabled or one of the PubSub inputs is missing a publisher. The output point's data quality (DQ) is displayed. The freshness of the output point can be affected by the execution of the aceconfig record if UpdateFresh is selected for it. If there is a problem executing an ACE routine, or if PubSub inputs are not available, the Error icon could also be shown.

Field |
Description |
|---|---|
|
Name |
The pre-configured name of the ACE record |
|
Code |
The name of the ACE code (acecode) that is associated with the point. |
|
Group |
The group that the ACE record is assigned to. This group is either pre-configured or was created because it contains many points that are closely related. |
|
Output Point |
Indicates the location where the system writes the data resulting from an acecode execution. |
|
Output Value |
This field contains the calculated value of the point. Note: This may not be the value from the code. If the point is in manual override, the manual value is shown rather than the calculated value. The point is not disabled in this case (unlike with other ACE errors) as the condition is likely to clear under normal operating conditions. |
|
Run Now |
Select the arrow button at the bottom-left of the dialog box to run the ACE procedure. When you select this button and have control of a point, the button deactivates and the text changes to Running. Once the calculation is complete, the Run Now text is displayed again and the button is reactivated. When you select this button and do not have control of a point, an error message appears. Select OK to return to the ACE Control dialog box. The button remains disabled. |
|
Point Alarms |
Select the button with the image of an alarm to call up the Point Alarm summary. |
|
Enabled |
Select this checkbox to re-enable the ACE procedure following an error condition. |
|
Dismiss |
Select to dismiss the ACE Control dialog box. |
