There are five main steps involved in configuring Listen Only communication mode, as detailed below.

To configure listen only communication mode

  1. In the user documentation for TCPListener, complete all steps in the following sections unless otherwise Noted:

  2. Configure a regular poll connection, as detailed in the "Driver Configuration" section of the applicable protocol user documentation.

  3. Associate RealTime database (RTDB) points with the remote belonging to the regular poll connection.

For protocol-specific input/output specifications, refer to Protocols.

  4. For all RTDBpoints associated with the remote belonging to the regular poll connection:

    1. Create duplicate records that are the same in everything but name.

    2. Associate the new records with the remote belonging to the Listen Only connection.

  5. If the Listen Only and regular poll connections are currently offscan, place them onscan.

For further information, refer to the AVEVA Enterprise SCADA HMI Controller documentation.

  6. Use the Software Analyzer (SWANA) program to confirm that the Listen Only connection is listening in on the regular poll communication and getting the same results.

For further information, refer to volume 1 of the AVEVA Enterprise SCADA RealTime Administrator documentation.
