Convert your database

Follow the steps below to convert your database.

To convert your database

1. On the desktop, double-click the Windows PowerShell for DNA shortcut.

   Windows PowerShell for DNA opens.

2. Execute the following command:

   set-silo RealTime

3. Run the SchemaConverter utility with the appropriate parameters.

   The SchemaConverter utility is responsible for the creation of RealTime database (RTDB) structural files and native header (.h) files. For more information on the required parameters, see Usage examples.

   Any error conditions noted during SchemaConverter execution must be resolved prior to continuing. Once completed, the new layout will be reflected in the root.txt and types.txt files (stored in %DNADataRoot%\RealTime\database\INTEL_NT).

   This process will override the root.txt and types.txt files associated with the original database configuration.

4. Rebuild all industry binaries. Ensure all errors that surface during this rebuild are resolved before moving on.

5. If desired, execute the GenerateDataModel command to create a managed database API for C# applications. For further information, see Understanding the Generate Database Model tool.
