OCM_GetProtocol method

Omnicomm uses the OCM_GetProtocol method implemented by your protocol assembly to identify the protocol record that represents your protocol. This method should return the slot number of the protocol record you created for your protocol. You must include this method in all protocol assemblies.

If desired, use the GetProtocolSlot method to simplify the process of including the method in all protocol assemblies (see GetProtocolSlot method).

In the example below, a protocol called "MyProtocol" has been created, along with a protocol record with the name "MyProtocol". The GetProtocolSlot method fetches the slot number of the specified protocol record based on its name and returns it to Omnicomm. Omnicomm will then associate your assembly with that record.

extern "C" LIBMYPROTOCOL protocolslot OCM_GetProtocol()

{

return GetProtocolSlot("MyProtocol");

}
