AVEVA Enterprise SCADA

Unit conversion

This application allows Controllers to select the units for the analog and rate data that appears on displays. Controllers can switch between units on a point-by-point basis. AVEVA Enterprise SCADA can also collect and trend values in alternate units.

When configured to do so, the application applies the following equation to a point’s telemetered value:

AlternateUnitsForValue = FactorA * Value + FactorB

This equation converts the value from the units listed in the Source Unit field to the units listed in the Destination Unit field on the unitConv Row Edit dialog box.

When a unitConv record is associated with an analog record, AVEVA Enterprise SCADA calculates the alter_curval value using the curval value when it processes – "krunches" – the record into the RealTime database (RTDB).

When a unitConv record is associated with a rate record, AVEVA Enterprise SCADA calculates the following values when it processes – "krunches" – the record into the RTDB:

  • alter_currate using the currate value

  • alter_acccur using the acccur value
